Suwon Nambu Fire Station to Represent Gyeonggi Province at 119 Fire Policy Conference

Suwon Nambu Fire Station in Gyeonggi Province will represent the province at the "37th 119 Fire Policy Conference." The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters has proven its top-level policy capabilities nationwide by winning awards for four consecutive years at the competitions held from 2021 to 2024, including three Presidential Awards and one Prime Minister's Award (second place).

Suwon Nambu Fire Station received the highest score at the competition held in March, where six teams from the province participated, with its "AI-based field-customized policy." The station received high praise, particularly for not only introducing new technology, but also ensuring both field effectiveness and practical applicability.

The 119 Fire Policy Conference is the largest fire policy competition in Korea, organized by the Central Fire Service Academy. Nineteen fire headquarters from across the country select regional representatives to compete in policy capabilities.

This year's competition will select eight teams for the finals through thesis and document review by July 25. The final rankings will be determined in September based on on-site presentations and audience evaluations.

Kim Jaebyung, head of the provincial Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "Policies that solve problems in the field are directly linked to protecting the lives of our residents," adding, "I hope that creative ideas incorporating AI technology will lead to practical safety policies."
