Call for Early Completion of Road Paving in Subway Construction Areas
Jonghan Baek, a member of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council representing Hwajeong 3-dong, Hwajeong 4-dong, and Pungam-dong, called for the swift implementation of the local sewer pipeline maintenance and odor reduction projects, as well as the early completion of road paving in subway construction sections, during a 'five-minute free speech' at the first plenary session of the 332nd extraordinary meeting on July 18, 2025.
Baek expressed his gratitude to public officials who quietly fulfill their duties to protect the cleanliness and well-being of residents, and urged that the sewer pipeline maintenance and odor reduction projects scheduled for the second half of the year also be carried out quickly and safely.
He went on to say that the ongoing subway construction over several years has continued to cause both direct and indirect damage, as well as increased fatigue, resulting in persistent inconvenience and burden for Seo-gu residents. He requested that the road paving and related works be completed as early as possible.
