Daegu Simin High School Students Han Jongmin and Lee Seoyun Save Man in His Twenties from Suicide Attempt by Holding His Leg and Persuading Him

Daegu Simin High School (Principal Song Youngsoo) announced on July 18 that at around 8:00 p.m. on July 12, second-year students Han Jongmin and Lee Seoyun discovered and rescued a man in his twenties who was attempting to jump from the Gangchang Bridge in Dalseo-gu, Daegu.


In this critical situation, Han Jongmin held onto the man's leg to prevent him from jumping and tried to persuade him, while Lee Seoyun made an emergency call to the Daegu Seongseo Police Station to request rescue. Thanks to the cooperation and quick response of the two students, the police arrived and safely rescued the man.

The Daegu Seongseo Police Station (Chief Kim Sidong) awarded the two students a certificate of commendation in recognition of their brave and selfless actions that saved a life.


Han Jongmin and Lee Seoyun commented, "We simply put into practice the life-respect education we learned at school."


Principal Song Youngsoo stated, "Both students are outstanding individuals who have always been considerate and have consistently demonstrated altruistic behavior. Their actions this time are a realization of the value of respect for life that they have learned in their daily lives."
