A fire of unknown origin broke out in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Soha-dong, Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, and firefighting efforts are underway.
According to the National Fire Agency, a fire report was received at 9:05 p.m. on July 17, 2025, and firefighting operations began at 9:09 p.m. A total of 43 firefighting vehicles and 110 personnel were dispatched.
The fire authorities issued a Level 2 response at 9:12 p.m. A Level 2 response is an alert in which 51 to 80 pieces of equipment are mobilized from 8 to 14 fire stations.
So far, two people have sustained minor injuries and two others have suffered serious injuries.
The Gwangmyeong city government sent a safety alert message advising residents to exercise caution and for nearby vehicles to take alternate routes.
