On July 17, at 3:40 p.m., Dong-gu District in Gwangju issued an evacuation order for residents of Sotae-dong, Yongsan-dong, and Unnim-dong due to concerns over the possible overflow of the Sotaecheon stream.
The designated evacuation shelter is the Dong-gu Cultural Center, but residents may also evacuate to other safe locations, such as the homes of relatives or acquaintances.
The number of people and households subject to evacuation is currently being tallied, and no related damages have been reported yet.
