Seo holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and previously served as Executive Director at Samsung Electronics, where he led the development of multicore software platforms. In 2007, he founded the Secure Xen ARM project, the world's first ARM-based open-source hypervisor software community, and has led Perseus since its establishment in 2016, pioneering the field of automotive embedded software solutions. With this appointment, Seo will provide advisory support on Fraunhofer's software and security technology strategies.

Perseus provides a foundation for reliably separating and operating various automotive software functions from hardware in the era of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) and connected cars through its flagship hypervisor solution, Pegasus. The company has demonstrated its technological competitiveness in the global market by collaborating with major automakers, including Hyundai Motor Group. Perseus is currently conducting joint research and development (R&D) with Fraunhofer to verify virtual functional safety suitable for the SDV era.

Seo stated, "Through our collaboration with Fraunhofer, we aim to lead the development of global standards for automotive software and security required in the era of future mobility."
