Deputy Governor Baek Samjong of Hamyang County Conducts On-Site Inspection at Waste Integrated Treatment Plant

Inspection of Operations at Incineration, Recycling Sorting, and Landfill Facilities

Baek Samjong, Deputy Governor of Hamyang County, Gyeongnam, visited the Waste Integrated Treatment Plant to inspect the operation and management of major facilities such as the incineration facility, recycling sorting facility, and landfill facility, and encouraged the on-site workers.

The inspection was conducted not only to ensure the appropriateness of waste treatment and the efficiency of facility operations, but also to secure the safety of workers and improve their working environment during the hot summer season.

Deputy Governor Baek examined the incineration facility's processing capacity, operational efficiency, efforts to reduce odors, and responses to equipment aging, and closely checked the management status of the recycling sorting facility. He also asked staff to pay special attention to preventing safety accidents and improving the working environment.

In addition, he requested that every effort be made to secure national funding for 2026 so that the project to install a new incineration facility, in response to the aging of the current incineration facility and the ban on direct landfilling of combustible waste starting in 2030, can proceed without delay.

Deputy Governor Baek Samjong emphasized, "The Waste Integrated Treatment Plant is a crucial facility directly linked to the pleasant living environment of county residents, so there must not be even the slightest neglect in hygiene and safety management," and added, "Please maintain an even more efficient waste treatment system through continuous inspection and improvement of aging equipment."
