On July 16, various online communities were abuzz with a video posted on a YouTube channel on July 3 that belatedly attracted attention.
The video shows YouTuber A, who visited five well-known restaurants in the Yeosu area, being mistreated by the owner at one of the establishments. This restaurant, famous for its set meals and marinated raw tonguefish, became even more popular after being featured on the "Ttoganjip" segment of YouTuber Pungja, who introduces must-visit eateries.
On that day, A visited the restaurant alone, and the staff informed her that they did not serve single portions. In response, A said she would order two portions and ordered food totaling 26,000 won. After filming the dishes, A turned off the camera and began eating quietly.

However, according to A, less than 20 minutes into her meal, the restaurant owner suddenly began scolding her and pressuring her to hurry up, prompting her to quickly turn the camera back on. Flustered, A resumed filming to document the situation.
The owner urged her to finish quickly, saying things like, "This isn't a place for just one young lady," "You have to eat quickly," "If you stay like this, the time is unlimited," and "I need to seat reserved customers."
A responded that she had only been in the restaurant for 20 minutes, but the owner retorted, "So what?" and continued, "All this for just 20,000 won," "You can just leave," and "Why are you acting like this?" A explained that there were no waiting customers at the time, and other diners were still eating, but the owner continued to single her out and scold her.

A tried to continue her meal, but her hands were shaking so much that she could barely eat, and eventually she stood up to leave with most of her food uneaten. At that point, the owner belatedly said, "I'm not telling you to leave. (The money) is fine." A replied, "I don't think I can eat," and left the restaurant. She paid for the meal by transferring the money to the account number written on the restaurant's business card. Later, A said, "Honestly, I'm angry. It had only been 20 minutes since I started eating, but the word 'unlimited' made me furious. I feel so upset," and shed tears.
Viewers who saw the video responded critically, saying, "She ordered two portions, so what's the problem?" "Her hands shaking was heartbreaking," "Authorities should step in and suspend the business," "Why single her out when other customers weren't told anything?" "How can you eat in peace when being rushed like that?" and "I was going to visit after seeing 'Ttoganjip,' but now I'll never go."
One commenter who said they were at the restaurant at the time testified, "We also lost our appetite and left quickly." Other commenters who had visited the restaurant shared their experiences, saying, "That place is very famous," "If you order cheap food, they scowl and embarrass you," and "They told me to get cash from an ATM because they don't accept cards."
On the afternoon of July 16, one-star reviews continued to pour in on the restaurant's Google review page. Most of the comments criticized the restaurant, with remarks such as, "I left full of anxiety instead of food," "Is this the place that singles out solo diners and embarrasses them?" "The ultimate in unfriendliness," "A restaurant where you have to finish in under 20 minutes," and "I'm leaving this comment so I never come back."
