LG Energy Solution Holds 3rd Academia-Industry Cooperation Conference, Shares Battery Research Achievements

115 Graduate Student Research Achievements Introduced

On July 16, LG Energy Solution announced that it held the '3rd LG Energy Solution Academia-Industry Cooperation Conference' at its Daejeon Technology Research Institute, sharing major research achievements in the battery sector with approximately 200 professors and master's and doctoral students from leading domestic universities.

This event, now in its third year, was organized to foster collaboration between academia and industry for the development of innovative technologies, and to nurture talent who will lead the future of Korea's battery industry.


The event featured a variety of programs, including a seminar session on academia-industry cooperation projects led by university professors, a poster session for master's and doctoral students, an LG Energy Solution recruitment briefing session, and a networking session.


Attendees from LG Energy Solution included key executives such as Chief Technology Officer Kim Jeyoung, Vice President and Head of Future Technology Center Jung Geunchang, Vice President and Head of Automotive Development Center Choi Seungdon, and Executive Director and Head of Small Battery Development Center Noh Sewon, along with members involved in research and development (R&D).


At this conference, a total of over 50 professors participated, presenting 20 academia-industry cooperation projects and announcing the latest research achievements. The presentation topics focused on next-generation batteries and technical challenges spanning the entire battery lifecycle.


In the poster session, a total of 115 graduate student research achievements were introduced, representing an increase of about 30% compared to last year. Presenters deepened the technical discussion through open Q&A and debates.


LG Energy Solution selected 30 outstanding posters for awards. Some awardees will receive benefits such as exemption from document screening when applying for LG Energy Solution in the future, and invitations to events such as the Battery Tech Conference (BTC).


Programs aimed at talent acquisition were also held. LG Energy Solution organized a recruitment briefing session at the conference site, introducing the company's technological vision, job roles in each business division, and growth opportunities. The 'Ask Anything Zone' allowed participants to consult with recruiters about career planning.


In addition, various side events enhanced the overall engagement of the conference, including exhibitions of LG Energy Solution products applied in small batteries, automotive, and ESS fields, an experience zone for researchers' lounges, and a photo zone.


Kim Jeyoung, Executive Director, stated, "This event is a platform for academia and industry to explore batteries together," adding, "We will continue to secure overwhelming technological leadership and deliver differentiated customer value through active open innovation and academia-industry cooperation."
