Gwangsan District Council in Gwangju to Hold 298th Extraordinary Session from July 16 to 22

Deliberation on Nine Agenda Items Including Ordinance and Consent Bills Over Seven Days
Two Ordinances Proposed by Council Members to Be Submitted
Standing Committees to Conduct Project Inspections Concurrently

The Gwangsan District Council in Gwangju will hold its 298th extraordinary session for seven days from July 16 to July 22, 2025, during which it will review a total of nine agenda items, including ordinance bills and consent bills. This is the first session of the second half of the year and will include two ordinances proposed by council members as well as on-site inspections of major projects.

During this extraordinary session, the Gwangsan District Council plans to process a total of nine agenda items: five ordinances and rule amendments, one consent bill, and one resolution. The two ordinances proposed by council members are the "Ordinance on Support for Dalbit Children's Hospital in Gwangsan District" (proposed by Council Member Kim Taewan) and the "Ordinance on Support for Jobs for the New Middle-aged in Gwangsan District" (proposed by Council Member Yoon Hyeyoung).


On the first day of the session, July 16, the council will convene its first plenary meeting to begin the session. From July 17 to July 21, each standing committee will review ordinance bills and general agenda items and conduct on-site inspections of major projects. On July 22, the council plans to conclude the session by voting on all agenda items at the second plenary meeting.


Chairperson Kim Myungsoo stated, "We will use this opportunity to closely examine the current state of district administration and to provide effective guidance," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that this first session of the second half of the year is conducted productively and serves as a foundation for the development of the region."
