Lee Myungjun, Chief of the West Sea Regional Coast Guard, conducted a security field inspection in Gunsan on the 15th to prevent marine safety accidents and strengthen emergency response readiness during the peak summer water leisure season.

The West Sea off the coast of Gunsan is a popular area for summer visitors due to its proximity to Gyeonggi Province. Among these, Seonyudo Beach (operating from July 9 to August 17) is a particularly busy spot, attracting up to 50,000 vacationers annually.

On this day, Chief Lee visited the Bieung Police Substation of the Gunsan Coast Guard and instructed officers to actively prevent and respond to marine accidents during the summer season, and to ensure a swift response in the event of an incident.

He then visited Bieunghang, a location for Korea Maritime Youth Corps activities, where he checked the slipway information signs, and continued on to Seonyudo Beach to inspect the facilities.

Chief Lee emphasized, "With the prolonged heat and high temperatures expected to bring more people to the beaches this summer, please focus on safety management and make sure to wear life jackets at all times."
