Woori Bank Selected as Participant in MOIS Mobile ID Program

Direct Issuance of Mobile ID Cards
via "Woori WON Wallet"

Woori Bank announced on July 14 that it has been selected by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) for the "2025 Mobile ID Private Sector Participation Program."

The mobile ID initiative has been promoted as a key project by the MOIS to open and expand public data to private services, in line with the government's policy direction of pursuing a "flexible and practical government." As an official digital ID issued by the government, it holds the same legal validity as a physical resident registration card.

Woori Bank was selected as a participating company after being evaluated by a selection committee composed of experts in security and authentication. The evaluation criteria included security standards, personal information protection measures, reliability, incident response systems, and activation plans. As a result, Woori Bank will serve as a core digital platform connecting public institutions and the private financial sector.

Going forward, users will be able to directly issue mobile IDs through the Woori WON Wallet within the Woori WON Banking app. This will enable identity verification not only for financial transactions but also in various fields such as government offices and medical institutions, greatly enhancing convenience for the public.

A Woori Bank representative stated, "Being selected as a participating company in the mobile ID program is a recognition of Woori Bank's digital competitiveness and capabilities in personal data protection. We will continue to strive to provide customers with convenient and secure financial services, as well as services that enhance daily life."

Meanwhile, Woori Bank has previously introduced services such as mobile driver's license real-name verification, non-face-to-face transactions with the national veterans registration card, and mobile resident registration card verification.
