Plan to Develop 'AI Engineer Agent'
Posco is accelerating its transition to manufacturing AI (AX) by partnering with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to actively apply artificial intelligence (AI) to its manufacturing sites.
On July 13, Posco DX announced that it had signed a business agreement with AWS and that the two companies would collaborate to promote manufacturing AX.

Under the agreement, Posco Group, through Posco DX, will be responsible for developing AI agents optimized for field operations and an AI-based engineering automation platform. AWS will provide cloud infrastructure and deliver a variety of AI applications.
Posco Group plans to develop an 'AI Engineer Agent' that automates engineering tasks at industrial sites by utilizing Bedrock, AWS's generative AI, and SageMaker, its machine learning service, both offered in AWS's cloud environment.
The AI Engineer Agent will automatically generate step-by-step deliverables such as design documents and blueprints, as well as completion reports required to finish projects, and will support the entire engineering design process.
A Posco Group official stated, "Programming and repetitive documentation tasks at industrial sites will be reduced, which will improve work productivity by more than 30%. In addition, this will create an environment where engineers can focus on more creative and high value-added tasks."
