The Gyeongbuk Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Jongshik) announced that, in order to strengthen the fairness and reliability of student assessments, it will conduct an emergency security inspection of the entire student assessment process at all general high schools in the province from July 14 to July 16.
This measure was implemented as part of effective countermeasures in response to the recent incident of unauthorized entry by outsiders during the exam period, which was raised by the media.
The inspection will cover all procedures related to assessments, including test creation, printing, storage, administration, grading, and security. It will be carried out systematically and thoroughly using a checklist that includes detailed inspection items.
In particular, the inspection will focus on the appropriateness of the operation of security devices. Key inspection items include a comprehensive survey and verification of individuals authorized to handle security devices, a review of the deactivation history of security devices during the exam period, confirmation of CCTV footage in the assessment management room, and checks for any unauthorized deletion of CCTV data within the retention period.
Meanwhile, the Gyeongbuk Office of Education responded quickly on site and provided support regarding the recent incident of unauthorized entry by outsiders during the exam period. It plans to take strict action against those involved based on the results of the police investigation. In addition, to prevent similar incidents from recurring, the office will overhaul the entire assessment security system and respond firmly to any future misconduct.
Lim Jongshik, Superintendent of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, stated, "Fairness and trust must be prioritized above all else in student assessments," and added, "Through this emergency inspection, we will further strengthen security throughout the entire assessment process and create an environment where students can take exams with peace of mind."
