"Curious About Fast-Track Planning and Moa Town?" Seoul to Run 'Urban Renewal Academy' in 25 Districts

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on July 14 that it will operate the "2025 Public Urban Renewal Academy" in 25 districts from July to November to enhance citizens' understanding of urban renewal projects.

"Curious About Fast-Track Planning and Moa Town?" Seoul to Run 'Urban Renewal Academy' in 25 Districts

This academy focuses on explaining the city's major urban renewal policies?such as the Fast-Track Integrated Planning, Moa Town, and Public Support System?in a way that is easy to understand and systematic, tailored to the perspective of citizens.

Urban renewal projects involve complex systems and procedures, making it difficult for citizens to access or understand information. To address this, the academy is designed not only to deliver lectures but also to provide a platform for communication where citizens can share and resolve their concerns and questions. The program also includes open Q&A sessions and special lectures on topics of interest to citizens, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of customized education.

This academy will be held in Dongjak-gu (July 14), Gangseo-gu (July 15), and next month in five other districts including Yongsan-gu, Yangcheon-gu, Songpa-gu, Dobong-gu, and Gwanak-gu. A total of 25 sessions are scheduled, with Jung-gu hosting the final session in November.

Any citizen wishing to participate can make a reservation online through the "Seoul Public Reservation System" or by phone through the "Public Urban Renewal Academy Secretariat."

After the educational sessions, the city plans to establish a system that enables additional education and individual consultation support, in connection with the Mobile Urban Renewal Resident School and the Mobile Urban Renewal On-Site Consultation Center.

Choi Jinseok, Director of Housing at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, "Urban renewal is not simply urban development, but an important process that transforms citizens' lives and daily routines. We expect that this Public Urban Renewal Academy will pave the way for all citizens to become key players in urban renewal policies, allowing them to protect their rights based on a proper understanding."
