5-Year-Old Boy Killed After Being Hit by Van While Crossing Crosswalk

A child riding a kickboard was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by a man in his 70s while crossing a crosswalk.

According to police on July 13, at around 8:40 p.m. the previous day, a Starex driven by a 79-year-old man, identified as A, hit a 5-year-old boy, identified as B, who was crossing a crosswalk on a children's kickboard on a road in Saha-gu, Busan.

B was transported to a hospital for treatment but ultimately died. Police have booked A and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
