T'way Air Opens Canada Sky Route with Launch of Regular Vancouver Service

T'way Air Launches Incheon-Vancouver Route
First Low-Cost Carrier to Enter Canada
Aiming for Global Expansion with Medium- and Long-Haul Flights

On July 13, T'way Air announced the launch of its new regular route between Incheon and Vancouver. T'way Air is the first low-cost carrier (LCC) to enter Canada, and the company aims to become a global airline by expanding its network of medium- and long-haul routes.

On July 12, T'way Air held a new route inauguration ceremony for the Incheon-Vancouver line at Incheon International Airport. The event was attended by Lee Sangyun, CEO of T'way Air, as well as employees. The inaugural flight, TW531, achieved a load factor of 96% on its first day of operation.

The Incheon-Vancouver route operates four times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday), departing Incheon Airport at approximately 9:05 p.m. and arriving at Vancouver International Airport at 3:25 p.m. local time. The flight time is about 10 hours and 20 minutes. The return flight departs Vancouver International Airport at 5:25 p.m. local time and arrives at Incheon International Airport at 9:35 p.m. the following day, with a flight time of about 12 hours and 10 minutes.

The Incheon-Vancouver route is operated using an A330-300 aircraft with 347 seats. Of these, 12 seats are configured as Business Saver Class, featuring wide lie-flat seats, adjustable headrests, and ample legroom to ensure a comfortable journey, according to T'way Air.

T'way Air began operating medium- and long-haul routes in earnest starting with the launch of the Incheon-Sydney route in 2022. Last year, the airline opened its first European route to Zagreb, Croatia. In particular, since August of last year, T'way Air has successively launched routes to Rome, Paris, Barcelona, and Frankfurt, thereby expanding its medium- and long-haul network across Europe.

The launch of the Vancouver route marks T'way Air's first entry into the North American market. A T'way Air representative stated, "We expect this to be an important turning point in our efforts to become a global airline through diversification of medium- and long-haul routes." The representative also added, "For our long-haul destinations, we plan to explore various synergies in cooperation with Sono Hotels & Resorts in the future."

In conjunction with the new route launch, T'way Air is currently offering a special promotion on Vancouver tickets. The promotion includes a 100,000 KRW coupon and a discount code for 15% off, both available for use throughout July.
