Yongsan District Signs Agreement with Korea Saesaengmyeong Welfare Foundation to Strengthen Welfare Cooperation for Low-Income Residents and Seniors

Yongsan District in Seoul announced on the 13th that it had signed a "business agreement for the promotion of resident welfare" with the Korea Saesaengmyeong Welfare Foundation on the 11th.


This agreement focuses on establishing a foundation for public-private cooperation to strengthen welfare for seniors and low-income residents. Under the agreement, the two organizations will build a mutual cooperation system in three areas: sharing projects for low-income and marginalized groups, joint support for community disaster response, and identifying collaborative projects to promote social welfare.

In particular, during the second half of this year, they plan to prioritize the "support project for low-income and vulnerable seniors." Since last year, Yongsan District has expanded its "visiting welfare service," operating a welfare system in which the administration, private sector, and residents cooperate at all times. Through this agreement, the district expects to further strengthen the linkage of private welfare resources.


Song Changik, Chairman of the Korea Saesaengmyeong Welfare Foundation, stated, "By combining the foundation's private sponsorship network with Yongsan District's administrative capabilities, we can establish a leading welfare model that enables both emergency support for households in crisis and the spread of a sharing culture in daily life." He added, "We will continue to actively cooperate for community care and mutual prosperity."


Park Heeyoung, Mayor of Yongsan District, emphasized, "Yongsan District is strengthening its welfare safety net through organic cooperation between the public and private sectors to create a city where everyone can smile together," and added, "Through this agreement, we will continue to promote practical welfare policies that bring tangible changes to the lives of seniors and low-income residents."
