Kim Byungki Criticizes Dismissal of Warrant for Kim Keonhee's "Butler"
Pledges to Support Special Prosecutor's Investigation and Prevent Evasion
Special Committee Formed to Respond to Three Major Prosecutor Cases
Kim Byungki, Acting Party Leader and Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated, "If necessary, we will actively support the special prosecutor's investigation by revising the special prosecutor act or other measures, to ensure that no disruptions occur due to legal loopholes or differences in legal interpretation." The Democratic Party has established a Special Committee for Comprehensive Response to the Three Major Special Prosecutor Cases within the party.

At the Supreme Council meeting of the Democratic Party held at the main building of the National Assembly in Yeouido on July 11, Acting Leader Kim commented on the court's dismissal of the search and seizure warrant for the residence of Mr. Kim, known as the "butler" of Kim Keonhee, saying, "This is a position that cannot be understood by common sense," and delivered these remarks.
Acting Leader Kim stated, "The special prosecutor is currently investigating the fact that major conglomerates invested heavily in the poorly managed rental car company associated with Mr. Kim, who is linked to Kim Keonhee," and added, "Mr. Kim left the country with his family last April, which was essentially an attempt to evade the investigation."
He further emphasized, "The court dismissed the search and seizure warrant for Mr. Kim's residence, which was intended to prevent destruction of evidence and ensure a swift investigation by the special prosecutor, on the grounds that Mr. Kim is not a subject of the special prosecutor's investigation. However, any related criminal acts identified during the course of the investigation are clearly subject to investigation."
Acting Leader Kim also stated, "We will make sure that legal manipulators like Kim Keonhee and her associates never escape the special prosecutor's investigation."
He also offered words of encouragement regarding the three major special prosecutor cases. Acting Leader Kim said, "I urge the three special prosecutors to thoroughly uncover the reality of the insurrectionist forces and corrupt elements centered around Yoon Sukyeol and Kim Keonhee," and added, "I hope that, by the command of the sovereign people, all of them will be brought to justice."
Democratic Party spokesperson Hwang Jeonga told reporters after the Supreme Council meeting, "At today's meeting, we established the Special Committee for Comprehensive Response to the Three Major Special Prosecutor Cases," and added, "We have appointed Senior Supreme Council Member Jeon Hyunhee as the chairperson."
