An emergency childcare facility will be established in the workplace to help alleviate police officers' concerns about parenting.
On July 9, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that it will pilot 'YukaN Office,' the first workplace emergency childcare facility within the police organization.
YukaN Office is designed to minimize gaps in childcare for frontline police officers and to support them in balancing work and parenting. Employees can bring their children aged 12 or younger by making a reservation through an application (app), and the facility operates on a system where employees who bring their children take turns caring for them.
Previously, at Mapo Police Station, the need for an alternative was raised after a police officer had to bring their two-year-old child to work due to a lack of childcare options.
A police official stated, "By improving the welfare of our members, we will enhance the organization's focus and responsiveness, ultimately providing better public safety services to citizens."
