The agreement focuses on implementing innovative, customer-centric services. In particular, GS Caltex will be the first in the oil refining industry to introduce the Tossfront terminal at its gas stations.
The two companies plan to combine their expertise and infrastructure to provide differentiated experiences for fueling customers and to cooperate in strengthening the competitiveness of their respective platforms.
Tossplace will first conduct usability tests to optimize the Tossfront terminal for the gas station environment. After verifying the stability of key features such as the card reader and facial recognition payment, the company plans to gradually expand deployment to GS Caltex gas stations nationwide.
The terminal will be embedded within the fuel dispenser to provide customers with an intuitive payment experience.
GS Caltex will integrate its gas station management system with the Tossfront terminal and incorporate Toss's user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) expertise throughout its POS system to establish a user-centered digital operating environment.
Through these efforts, the company expects to dramatically improve the barcode reading speed of its existing "Baroju-yu" service. The convenience of the mobile application used by gas station owners will also be enhanced.
A Tossplace representative stated, "We also plan to gradually introduce a variety of follow-up services to maximize user convenience," adding, "By combining the core competencies of both companies, we aim to set a new standard for the gas station customer experience."
