This forum was organized to gather opinions from various sectors on the "Partial Amendment to the Tourism Promotion Act" jointly proposed by lawmakers Min Hyungbae and Kim Jaewon on May 29. It was co-hosted by the Sustainable Tourism Local Government Council, which is composed of 27 basic local governments, and lawmakers Min Hyungbae and Kim Jaewon.

On this day, Chairman Lim Taek participated as a panelist and, through his presentation "Policy Proposals of Local Governments for the Sustainability of Local Tourism," introduced the current status of Donggu's sustainable tourism policy initiatives. He also proposed measures for establishing evaluation, certification, and discussion structures related to the designation of sustainable tourism cities.

In addition, presentations were given by Kim Kyunghwa, Director of the Regional Culture Policy Division at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on "Designation of Cultural Cities and Changes in Local Government Cultural Policies," and Ryu Siyoung, Professor of Cultural Tourism Management at Halla University, on "The Need to Revise the Tourism Promotion Act for the Expansion of Sustainable Tourism."

The designated discussion session also included Kim Myungho, Director of Domestic Tourism Promotion Division at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Shim Wonseop, Professor of Tourism at Mokpo National University; Kim Hyein, Research Fellow in Culture and Arts Policy at the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute; and Ko Kyungkon, former President of Daejeon Tourism Organization.

Lim Taek, Mayor of Donggu, stated, "This forum was not only about the amendment bill, but also served as an opportunity to discuss practical measures to support sustainable tourism policies of basic local governments. I hope that lawmakers from both ruling and opposition parties will actively cooperate so that the amendment can be passed quickly and utilized in the field."
