Starting from July 10, Lotte Mart will sell "CA-stored spinach (per bunch)" for 2,990 KRW, "Smart Farm Naeil Farm Lettuce (150g)" for 2,490 KRW, and "Smart Farm Naeil Farm Perilla Leaves (about 30 leaves)" for 1,990 KRW at all of its stores.

Earlier, in early June, Lotte Mart stored a total of 6,400 bunches of spinach in the CA storage at the Lotte Fresh Quality Innovation Center, after prior consultation with local farms in North Gyeongsang Province. By utilizing CA storage technology, customers can enjoy Yeonghae spinach from the southern coast and Gyeongnam region even in mid-July.

Lotte Mart has been using CA storage technology since 2018. CA storage is a method that delays the aging of agricultural products and maintains their original taste and freshness for a long period by controlling temperature, humidity, and the concentration of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the air. The Lotte Fresh Quality Innovation Center has a CA storage facility capable of storing up to 1,000 tons of agricultural products. Depending on the season, CA storage technology is applied to various items such as apples, onions, watermelons, and spinach.

This year, Lotte Mart is newly introducing lettuce and perilla leaves grown in smart farms. Smart farm vegetables are characterized by their ability to maintain consistent quality through facility cultivation methods that are less affected by climate conditions. In January this year, a Lotte Mart vegetable team merchandiser visited smart farms located in Buan, North Jeolla Province, and Geumsan, South Chungcheong Province, to secure additional quantities of lettuce and perilla leaves.

Kim Sieun, vegetable team merchandiser (MD) at Lotte Mart and Lotte Super, said, "We are utilizing CA storage technology and securing quantities of smart farm vegetables to respond to the instability in vegetable supply caused by climate change. We will continue to make efforts to provide fresh vegetables at reasonable prices while minimizing the impact of abnormal weather conditions."
