The Gwangju Regional Veterans Office announced on July 7 that it operated the experiential program "BoboKIDS Komjirak Playground" to convey the spirit of patriotism to future generations on the 80th anniversary of liberation.
This program, operated in cooperation with the Bitgoeul Rural Theme Park in Nam-gu, Gwangju, was held under the theme "Practicing Patriotism with Children." It was designed for children in Nam-gu, Gwangju, and consisted of various hands-on activities such as making Taegukgi (Korean national flag) photo frames, planting Mugunghwa (Rose of Sharon) saplings, and educational sessions on the meaning of liberation.
The activities of making Taegukgi photo frames and planting Mugunghwa saplings, which the children participated in directly, provided opportunities to naturally learn about the spirit of patriotism and the significance of liberation.
An official from the Gwangju Regional Veterans Office stated, "This program was a valuable time for children to experience the historical meaning of independence and liberation through play and to learn about patriotism in a natural way," and added, "We will continue to expand veterans culture programs in cooperation with the local community so that various generations can participate."
