On July 8, Gwangju and South Jeolla Province will continue to experience hot weather, with showers expected in some areas.

According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, the region will be affected by the edge of a high-pressure system located over the southern seas of Japan. The morning low will range from 23 to 26 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high will be between 31 and 35 degrees Celsius. The perceived temperature is forecast to reach around 35 degrees Celsius.

Showers of approximately 5 to 40 millimeters are expected, mainly in the inland central areas of Gwangju and South Jeolla Province. The waves in the seas off the west and south coasts are expected to be relatively calm at 0.5 meters, and the concentration of ultrafine dust is forecast to remain at a 'good' level.

An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration warned, "There is a high risk of heat-related illnesses due to the hot weather," and advised, "Please refrain from outdoor activities and outings, and pay special attention to food hygiene management."
