IT security specialist company Data Expert and XR technology leader Skonec Entertainment (CEO Park Woncheol) announced on July 7 that they have entered into a strategic partnership to jointly enter the Middle Eastern and Asian markets with military and public security training solutions based on large-scale XR training systems and portable VR devices.
Data Expert is a strategic company leading the Asian IT security market, with a proven track record in cyber security infrastructure, consulting, and threat response. By strictly adhering to the latest technologies, it provides cutting-edge IT asset management solutions to clients worldwide, including government ministries, agencies, large enterprises, banks, small and medium-sized businesses, and individual customers. The company has also established close partnerships with competitive firms in Greater China, Singapore, Japan, Korea, Russia, the United States, Canada, and other regions.
This collaboration is structured so that Skonec’s portable VR devices and large-scale simulation training systems, which have already been supplied to the Korean National Police Agency, will be supplied by Data Expert as dedicated military training equipment to defense and public security agencies in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Data Expert is proposing customized XR solutions to local ministries of defense and security agencies through its own information security infrastructure and public sector networks, while Skonec is responsible for core technology areas such as content and system customization, technical support, and maintenance.
Skonec’s portable VR training devices are attracting attention as next-generation training equipment that combines mobility and cost efficiency, as they enable scenario-based training without the need for fixed spaces. These devices have already been successfully adopted, particularly by the Korean National Police Agency and other public institutions.
In addition, Skonec’s large-scale XR platform is an advanced system that enables multi-user tactical training and collaboration-based simulations in indoor and outdoor spaces spanning dozens of pyeong, and is being evaluated as an optimized solution for the military training needs of the Middle East.
Through this partnership, the two companies plan to sign pilot supply contracts in at least three countries by the second half of 2025, and subsequently expand the application of their solutions to defense and public sector clients.
A Data Expert representative stated, "Skonec’s XR solutions, already proven in Korea, will become an essential component in building next-generation digital tactical training infrastructure in the Middle East and Southeast Asia," adding, "We aim to lead the digital transformation of the public security and defense sectors."
Park Woncheol, CEO of Skonec, said, "Overseas exports based on domestic references, including the National Police Agency, signify the spread of K-XR technology and the strengthening of our position in the defense and public training market," and added, "Together with Data Expert, we will embark on a strategic market expansion across Asia and the Middle East."
