KOSPI and KOSDAQ Open Lower but Rebound Together

As of 9:16 a.m. on this day, the KOSPI index was down 0.13% from the previous trading day at 3,050.19. The index started at 3,044.78, down 0.31% from the previous session, but has since narrowed its losses. While individual investors and foreign investors have net sold 25.8 billion won and 4.3 billion won, respectively, institutional investors have purchased 26.6 billion won.


By sector, transportation·storage (-1.11%), telecommunications (-1.09%), chemicals (-1.04%), construction (-0.88%), medical·precision equipment (-0.78%), electrical·electronics (-0.75%), pharmaceuticals (-0.71%), and real estate (-0.43%) are declining. In contrast, IT services (2.38%), food·beverages·tobacco (1.66%), insurance (1.63%), finance (0.84%), securities (0.82%), and entertainment·culture (0.54%) are rising.


Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, all except KB Financial Group (0.80%) and NAVER (4.22%) are declining. This includes Samsung Electronics (-1.26%), SK hynix (-0.74%), Samsung Biologics (-0.77%), LG Energy Solution (-0.48%), Hyundai Motor (-0.71%), Celltrion (-0.39%), and Kia (-0.10%).


At the same time, the KOSDAQ index was down 0.33% from the previous trading day at 773.24. The index opened at 774.19, down 0.21% from the previous session. Foreign investors and institutions have sold 19.3 billion won and 29.2 billion won, respectively, while individual investors have purchased 53.6 billion won.


By sector, construction (-0.89%), machinery·equipment (-0.86%), non-metallics (-0.81%), paper·wood·chemicals (-0.80%), transportation·storage (-0.77%), and electrical·electronics (-0.73%) are posting slight declines, while food·beverages·tobacco (0.74%), telecommunications (0.73%), IT services (0.43%), entertainment·culture (0.42%), and medical·precision equipment (0.13%) are trending upward.


Among leading stocks by market capitalization, HLB (0.71%), PharmaResearch (2.34%), and Classys (0.50%) are gaining, while Alteogen (-0.53%), Ecopro BM (-2.40%), Ecopro (-2.35%), Rainbow Robotics (-0.75%), Hugel (-1.52%), Peptron (-0.90%), and LIG ChemBio (-1.90%) are showing weakness.
