Dong-Eui University AI Grand ICT Research Center Signs Agreement with University of Gdansk in Poland

Cooperation and Exchange in Advanced Fields Such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, and Digital Transformation

The Dong-Eui University AI Grand ICT Research Center (Director: Jung Seokchan) signed a memorandum of understanding on June 30, 2025, with the University of Gdansk in Poland to strengthen cooperation in joint research, talent exchange, and policy collaboration in advanced technology fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and digital transformation.


The signing ceremony was attended by Jung Seokchan, Director of the AI Grand ICT Research Center, and Anna Jurkowska-Zeidler, Vice President of the University of Gdansk, along with other officials from both institutions.

Through this agreement, the two universities plan to establish a collaborative system that integrates research and education by cooperating in the following areas: exchange of AI-based industrial automation technologies and research and development (R&D) in quantum computing; fostering AI and industrial automation technologies in the manufacturing sector; supporting networks and building ecosystems for the dissemination of AI and quantum computing; nurturing talent and developing educational programs and information exchange in AI and quantum computing; and supporting various projects and events promoted by both universities.


The University of Gdansk, a leading public university representing Gdansk, the largest port city in Poland, is recognized as one of the top 10 universities in the country. It is particularly known as a research-oriented university with strengths in marine science, law, sustainability, biotechnology, and quantum technology.


Jung Seokchan, Director of the AI Grand ICT Research Center, stated, "This agreement is significant as it marks the expansion of the close economic cooperation between Korea and Poland in defense, energy, and digital industries into future strategic technology fields such as AI and digital transformation." He added, "The AI Grand ICT Research Center will serve as a bridge for building and expanding cooperative relationships and exchanges between Busan, Poland, and further with the EU through joint research and talent exchange based on AI."


The AI Grand ICT Research Center is operated with the support of the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP) under the 'Regional Intelligence Innovation Talent Training Project.'
