According to Gwangju City on July 6, approximately 600 citizens attended the third anniversary event held on July 1 at the Namhansanseong Hall of the Gwangju Culture and Arts Center. The event drew significant attention as it was conducted in the format of a talk concert led by Mayor Bang.
On this day, Mayor Bang Sehyun specifically introduced the major projects promoted during the 8th local government administration, focusing on five main city administration goals: a welfare city, an economic city, an education and culture city, a carbon-neutral city, and an open city. Mayor Bang particularly emphasized the vision of a "city where citizens are the true owners," and credited the active participation and cooperation of citizens as the foundation for these achievements.
In addition, through the "Curiosity Talk, Let's Burst It!" segment, Mayor Bang personally answered questions submitted by citizens in advance, putting into practice an open administration that listens to voices from the field.
The event, hosted by broadcaster Son Beomsoo, who serves as the public relations ambassador for Gwangju City, unfolded in a free and lively atmosphere, becoming a genuine platform for communication with citizens.
Mayor Bang Sehyun expressed his heartfelt gratitude, stating, "All the achievements of the 8th local government administration were possible because we accomplished them together with the citizens." He went on to say, "The upcoming 2025 Korea Forest Expo and the 2026~2027 Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival will also be opportunities to elevate Gwangju City's status," and called for the continued interest and participation of citizens.
In addition to Mayor Bang's presentation, the anniversary event featured various cultural performances, including shows prepared by citizens and the "Gwangjiwon Pangut" by the Gwangju Municipal Gwangjiwon Nongak Troupe, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.
