Q&A with Top Management and Encouragement Dinner
A Series of Communication Events Held with Employees

"Our experience in resisting 'hostile takeovers (M&A)' will make us stronger and more united."

Choi Yunbum, Chairman of Korea Zinc, encouraged employees with these words regarding the management rights dispute with Youngpoong and MBK Partners that has continued for the past ten months. In a communication session with employees, he said, "This experience will serve as the driving force to successfully realize and expand Korea Zinc's future growth engines, represented by the Troika Drive."

On July 1, at the Ulsan Electric Convention Center, the 'KZ Ieum Jang' event was held, attended by Chairman Choi and about 250 Korea Zinc employees. Various programs were held at the event, including on-site tea time, ice-breaking sessions, and Q&A. 'KZ Ieum Jang' is Korea Zinc's signature communication program. In 2023, Chairman Choi led the event, and last year, presidents of three divisions hosted it to communicate with employees.

During the Q&A session with employees, sharp questions were raised about the work environment, safety, and welfare. In response to concerns about the safety of in-house maintenance personnel, Chairman Choi emphasized the importance of work permits. Drawing on his experience working at the smelter, he said, "Meticulously recording and handing over every task, progress, and checklist at the site is the only way to protect both my colleagues' safety and my own. If work permits are properly written and managed, there will be no compromise on safety."

Earlier, on June 30, Korea Zinc also held a new employee workshop, 'Rookies Day,' for 29 new hires at a hotel in Busan. Chairman Choi and executives attended the event as senior members of Korea Zinc.

Chairman Choi said, "It may seem like I am running the company now, but in reality, you will be doing much more than I do. I will strive to be someone who helps you perform at your best." He added, "If we can share the same dream, realizing that dream is only a matter of time. Above all, it is essential to share a sense of community and a vision as members of Korea Zinc."
