On July 3, Pallyong-dong in Uichang-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, made a round of visits to 10 senior centers in the district, taking active steps to communicate with elderly residents.
This visit was organized to introduce the new district chief, check in on the well-being of local seniors, listen to updates on the operation of the senior centers and any difficulties they face. In addition, the visit included guidance on heatwave safety rules in preparation for the hot weather, as well as inspections of cooling facilities.
The seniors at the centers expressed their appreciation, saying, "Thank you for showing interest in the senior centers despite your busy schedule," and added, "We hope you will continue to work hard for the development of Pallyong-dong."
Gil Jeonghwan, chief of Pallyong-dong, stated, "We will spare no administrative support to ensure that local seniors can spend the summer safely," and added, "Since senior centers are both a shelter and a place for communication for our elders, we will always pay close attention to their needs."
