Gokseong County in Jeonnam Province, led by Governor Josangrae, is emerging as an 'excellent local government' in local tax administration, having won awards in four categories of the local tax administration evaluation organized by Jeonnam Province.
On July 3, Gokseong County announced that it had secured a financial incentive of 40 million won after winning the 'Grand Prize' in this year's evaluation of local non-tax revenue collection performance, as well as the 'Encouragement Award' in the comprehensive local tax administration evaluation, the 'Encouragement Award' in the evaluation for reducing carried-over local tax arrears, and the 'Encouragement Award' in the presentation contest for research projects at the Local Tax Administration Innovation Forum.
The county received the Grand Prize in the local non-tax revenue collection performance evaluation for the second consecutive year, and achieved the remarkable feat of winning the comprehensive local tax administration evaluation for six consecutive years since last year.
At this year's Local Tax Administration Innovation Forum, commendations for exemplary taxpayers were also presented. Hong Duyoung, a resident of Seokgok-myeon in Gokseong, was selected as an exemplary taxpayer and received a commendation from the Governor of Jeonnam Province.
A county official stated, "This achievement is the result of the mature tax awareness of our residents and the dedicated efforts of all our staff to expand independent financial resources," and added, "We will continue to build a trustworthy tax administration for our residents through fair and accurate collection activities."
