Providing Practical Convenience for County Residents' Daily Lives
Changnyeong County, South Gyeongsang Province, announced on July 3 that it has completed the 'Intersection Maintenance Project at Galjeon District, Changnyeong-eup.' The project is expected to effectively address increased traffic demand caused by the Changnyeong Nonghyup Complex Facility, which is scheduled to open in July, and to alleviate chronic congestion in the area around the back gate of Changnyeong County Office.
This project involved the installation of acceleration and deceleration lanes with a total length of 88 meters and was carried out with a total budget of approximately 250 million KRW. The construction was completed in a short period through swift and efficient execution.

In November 2024, Changnyeong County conducted a preliminary inspection of the construction site for the new Changnyeong Nonghyup Complex Facility. The county proactively analyzed the potential traffic congestion expected after the facility’s completion and planned this maintenance project as a countermeasure to address those issues.
At the early stage of the project, there were difficulties due to compensation issues involving land owned by Nonghyup and some private property. However, County Governor Sung Nakin personally invited members of the Changnyeong County Council, Changnyeong Nonghyup, Changnyeong Police Station, and local residents to the site, where he explained the purpose and necessity of the project and persuaded the stakeholders, thereby finding a breakthrough.
As a result, Changnyeong Nonghyup voluntarily donated its land free of charge, and the privately owned land belonging to a retired public official was also successfully purchased, allowing the project to proceed smoothly.
An official from Changnyeong County stated, "This intersection maintenance project goes beyond simple infrastructure improvement; it is an example of transportation environment innovation jointly achieved by local related organizations and residents. We will continue to provide practical convenience to county residents in their daily lives by improving transportation infrastructure."
