On July 3, Korea Post Headquarters announced that it had signed a "business agreement to promote exports of domestic companies" with KOTRA at the Post Tower in Myeong-dong, Seoul.
Under the agreement, Korea Post Headquarters will offer discounts on international postal rates for domestic companies: EMS and EMS Premium services will be discounted by 12 to 40 percent, and K-Packet and Registered Small Packet services will be discounted by 5 to 20 percent, respectively.

EMS refers to an international express delivery service that can be sent to about 100 countries, and EMS Premium can be sent to about 200 countries. K-Packet is an international postal service specialized for lightweight and small items under 2 kg, available for shipping to 20 countries. Registered Small Packet can be sent to about 210 countries.
Through this agreement, domestic companies will be able to send international mail to destinations around the world at discounted rates from approximately 3,300 post offices nationwide.
KOTRA plans to promote the international postal contract and discount details to domestic companies, and provide consulting services regarding export-related matters such as import systems and customs clearance policies for each country.
Jo Haegeun, head of Korea Post Headquarters, stated, "This agreement is the result of both organizations coming together to support stable exports for domestic companies," adding, "Korea Post Headquarters and KOTRA will continue to do their utmost to help domestic companies grow into outstanding exporters and achieve meaningful results."
