BMW Korea announced on July 3 that it is accepting online pre-orders for its flagship all-electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV), the BMW New iX.
The New iX is a dedicated model from BMW i, the brand's electrification line, and is characterized by its innovative electric powertrain, futuristic design, luxurious yet spacious interior, and BMW’s signature dynamic driving performance.
The front features a vertical BMW kidney grille with a new diagonal pattern and the addition of the 'BMW Kidney Glow' function, which illuminates the grille’s outline. The vehicle is also equipped with vertical daytime running lights, giving it a commanding presence.
The introduction of the M Sport Package and M Sport Package Pro trims further enhances the sporty feel of the model. Depending on the trim, the M Sport brakes are equipped with either blue or red calipers. The high-performance model, the New iX M70 xDrive, is further distinguished by an M-specific kidney grille featuring the M logo and horizontal bars, black side mirror caps, and 23-inch wheels.
The model is offered with three powertrains featuring the latest electrification systems, resulting in a significant increase in overall output. The base model, the New iX xDrive45, delivers a maximum output of 408 horsepower?an increase of 82 horsepower compared to the previous version?and a maximum torque of 71.4kg·m, which is 7.2kg·m stronger than before.
The New iX xDrive60 produces a maximum output of 544 horsepower and a maximum torque of 78.0kg·m. The high-performance New iX M70 xDrive delivers a maximum output of 659 horsepower in Sport mode and a maximum torque of 112.2kg·m when launch control is activated, accelerating from a standstill to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
With the adoption of new battery cell technology, the New iX xDrive45 features approximately 30% greater battery capacity compared to the previous model. Additionally, innovative inverter technology and component optimization have increased the driving range by about 40% based on the WLTP standard.
The New iX is scheduled for release in the third quarter of this year. The price of the New iX xDrive45 will range from 125 million to 130 million won depending on the trim, the New iX xDrive60 will be priced between 150 million and 155 million won, and the New iX M70 xDrive will be priced between 175 million and 180 million won.
BMW Korea plans to display the New iX at the 'BMW Charging Hub Lounge' located in Jung-gu, Seoul, as well as at major BMW showrooms nationwide.
