Gwangju Transportation Corporation (President Jo Ikmun) recently attracted attention by carrying out volunteer activities to improve residential environments, aiming to help socially vulnerable groups such as elderly people living alone and people with disabilities enjoy a more comfortable summer.
On June 27, about ten employees from the Technology Operations Department, together with officials from the Unnam-dong Administrative Welfare Center, visited a household of a person with a physical disability in Gwangsan-gu. Park Sugi, a member of the Gwangju City Council, also participated in the volunteer work, which included thoroughly wallpapering the home and replacing the sink and storage cabinets to create a safer and more hygienic living environment. The efforts were met with a positive response.
On the same day, employees from the Vehicle Operations Department visited the home of an elderly person living alone in Ssangchon-dong, Seo-gu. They replaced old electrical equipment and meticulously organized household items, including floor coverings, working hard to improve the living conditions.
Additionally, employees from the Customer Business Department visited the Dong-gu Welfare Center for the Disabled, where they cleaned both the interior and exterior of the facility and distributed Onnuri gift certificates, putting the spirit of sharing and consideration into practice.
President Jo Ikmun stated, "We are proud to bring joy to local residents through the corporation's technology and talent," and added, "We will continue to steadily carry out various social contribution activities for the citizens in the future."
