Treatment Centers for Children with Developmental Disabilities
The "Hongseong Kkumjaram Center" for children with developmental delays has opened its doors and begun full-scale operations.
On July 2, Hongseong County in South Chungcheong Province announced that the "Hongseong Kkumjaram Center," established to support the treatment of children with developmental delays who have struggled due to a lack of treatment facilities, has opened its doors and begun full-scale operations.
According to the county, the "Hongseong Kkumjaram Center," which began operations on July 1 with an opening ceremony, is a comprehensive treatment institution for children with developmental delays. It provides language, cognitive, and psychological therapy, as well as play therapy, sensory integration therapy, and group therapy. The center is expected to be of great help in providing timely treatment for local children with developmental delays.
The Hongseong Kkumjaram Center plans to focus on supporting the healthy growth and social adaptation of children by offering assessments and specialized treatment services for children with developmental delays, for whom early intervention is crucial.
The center is equipped with therapy rooms and counseling rooms, and aims to enhance the effectiveness of treatment for children with developmental disabilities through a variety of programs, including parent education and family counseling programs.
In the Hongseong area, there has long been a lack of specialized treatment infrastructure for children with developmental delays and disabilities, forcing local residents to travel to nearby major cities for treatment. With the full-scale operation of the Hongseong Kkumjaram Center, it is expected that this will help address regional imbalances and serve as an opportunity to establish a public treatment system within the area.
Park Miseong, head of the county's Family Happiness Division, said, "With the opening of the Hongseong Kkumjaram Center, which enables everything from assessment to treatment for children with developmental delays, we expect that early intervention and customized therapy will greatly improve the quality of life for both the children and their families." She added, "We will continue to expand our programs and strengthen connections with the local community to make Hongseong a better place for children and residents to live."
