"Reflecting National Policy Tasks...
Promoting Through Cooperative Governance"
The National Planning Committee announced on July 2, "After receiving and analyzing common pledges and policy proposals from the parties that fielded presidential candidates and those that formed alliances with the Democratic Party, we found that out of a total of 246 presidential election pledges, 116 pledges?about 47%?were similar or partially matched."

Cho Seungrae, spokesperson for the National Planning Committee, stated at a briefing held at the annex of the Government Complex Seoul in Changseong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, "We will reflect the common pledges in national policy tasks and promote them through cooperative governance."
Cho explained that the common pledges include commitments to strengthen investment in the development of next-generation advanced technologies related to the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, to build the world's best AI infrastructure, and to ease the financial burden on small business owners.
He also noted that there was significant overlap between the ruling and opposition parties' pledges regarding the creation of an innovative ecosystem for advanced strategic industries such as secondary batteries, fostering the venture investment market, and improving the service conditions for military personnel.
Han Joo Lee, chairman of the National Planning Committee, received a policy proposal from the parliamentary leadership of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party earlier that morning. According to Cho, this proposal will also be used to develop a cooperative governance model based on common pledges between the ruling and opposition parties.
Regarding the reason for the indefinite postponement of the prosecution's scheduled work report for the day, Cho explained, "Due to personnel issues such as the resignation of Prosecutor General Sim Woojeong and the resulting complex situation within the prosecution, it was not an appropriate time to receive a report."
On the issue of government organizational restructuring, he stated, "Isn't the direction of the pledges clear regarding separating the budget function from the Ministry of Economy and Finance or the separation of investigation and indictment functions within the prosecution?" He added, "There are various options being discussed to concretize these directions, but there is nothing definitive that can be announced at this time."
