A Clear and Simple Guide
to Lee Jaemyung's Economic Policies
A new book titled "Lee Jaemyung's Practical Economy" (compiled by Daily Brief), which offers a comprehensive overview of President Lee Jaemyung's economic philosophy and policy direction, has been published. Based on President Lee's recent interviews and six hours of in-depth conversations, the book is a record compiled by two journalists who organized the key content by topic.
The book consists of five chapters: Economic Reality, Livelihood, Government, KOSPI 5000, and Politics. Each chapter is organically connected yet can be read independently, allowing readers to start with the topics that interest them most. Beginning with an analysis of the current economic situation, the book covers President Lee's views on all aspects of the national economy, including livelihood, advanced industries, real estate, the stock market, the tax system, working hours, and diplomatic strategy.

President Lee Jaemyung defines the essence of the economy as "making a living," that is, ensuring the minimum survival of all citizens. He emphasizes that "being warm and well-fed" is the starting point of economic policy. He points to weakened consumer sentiment and the government's passive role as the main causes of the recent economic crisis. He argues that "the government’s failure to properly coordinate the production and consumption activities of economic agents is leading to a decline in growth rates," and insists that the government should actively stimulate consumption and investment.
Regarding industrial policy, he states that investment in future industries such as artificial intelligence (AI), renewable energy (wind and solar), energy storage systems, and power transmission and distribution networks is urgent. In particular, on stock market policy, he asserts, "If the government merely corrects market abnormalities, the KOSPI 5000 era is possible within five years," emphasizing the need to resolve the Korea Discount and restore market trust.
The book also features conversations with a variety of figures, including Professor Kim Yongok (Do-ol), author Yoo Simin, the management team of SamproTV, Choi Taewon (Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and SK Group), Ryu Jin (Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries and Poongsan Group), and Sohn Kyungshik (Chairman of the Korea Employers Federation and CJ Group). In addition, it includes a dialogue section that organizes President Lee's remarks, as released on YouTube, by topic, allowing readers to vividly grasp his economic philosophy.
Editors Park Jongin (Editor-in-Chief, Daily Brief) and Lee Seungseok explain, "We have made the somewhat rigid subject of the economy easy to understand by using everyday language," adding that they aimed to make 'Lee Jaemyung's Economy' accessible to everyone. "Lee Jaemyung's Practical Economy" is a practical guidebook for readers, investors, and policymakers who wish to understand President Lee's perception of economic issues and his proposed solutions.
