Jeonsu Kim Appointed as 8th Chief of Bukbu Fire Station
Pledges to Prioritize Regional Safety
Jeonsu Kim, former head of the 119 Situation Room at the Sejong Fire Headquarters, has been appointed as the 8th Chief of Sejong Bukbu Fire Station, overseeing fire administration in the northern region of Sejong City. The previous chief, Lee Jinho, who was the 7th chief, has transferred to become the chief of the Southern Fire Station.
On July 1, immediately after his inauguration ceremony, Chief Kim began his official duties by inspecting three areas, including Eupnae-ri in Jeonui-myeon, that are at risk of flooding. He checked for vulnerable factors and ordered the strengthening of preventive measures to minimize damage during the monsoon season.
Chief Kim is recognized as a commander who demonstrates leadership and command abilities based on active communication with staff, as well as extensive hands-on experience in various fields such as on-site operations, administration, education, and prevention.
A native of Jeonui-myeon in Sejong City, Kim began his career in 1992 when he was appointed to the Chungnam Fire Department. Since then, he has held key positions including the Safety Management Division at the Chungnam Fire Headquarters, Head of Response and Prevention and Head of Disaster Response at Jochiwon Fire Station, and Head of the 119 Situation Room at Sejong Fire Headquarters.
Chief Kim stated, "I feel a great sense of responsibility as I take office as the fire chief in my hometown and the region where I have served for many years," adding, "I will make the safety of the region my top priority and do my utmost to protect the lives and property of citizens in the northern region of Sejong."
