The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eunhee) announced on July 2 that Choo Kwangyup, governor of Rotary International District 3700, has donated a scholarship fund of 20 million won to the Daegu Talent Development Scholarship Foundation.
Rotary International is a non-political, non-religious international service organization that values peace, service, and fellowship. Since March 2024, Choo Kwangyup has served as chairman of the Daegu Talent Development Scholarship Foundation. He was inaugurated as the new governor of Rotary International District 3700 for the 2025-2026 term, which operates in Daegu as well as parts of North Gyeongsang Province, including Gyeongsan City, Goryeong County, Seongju County, and Cheongdo County.

Choo Kwangyup stated, "Upon my inauguration as governor of Rotary International District 3700, I wanted to help students who will lead the future, which is why I decided to donate the scholarship fund."
Kang Eunhee, Superintendent of Daegu, said, "Congratulations on your inauguration as governor, and thank you for donating the scholarship fund for the students. The donation will be used meaningfully in areas where it is most needed to support underprivileged students and foster talent."
