Huh Taesu: "We Will Continue Private Sector-Led AI Collaboration"

GS Group has established a platform for exchange to promote artificial intelligence (AI) technology collaboration and ecosystem expansion.

On July 1, GS Group held the "3rd GS Generative AI (GenAI) Connect Day" at GS Tower in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event, themed "The Present and Future of AI Agents," brought together domestic and international experts to share the latest technology trends and industrial application cases. AI agents are intelligent systems that perform tasks automatically without human intervention, and are drawing attention from companies as a means of business automation and digital transformation.

Speakers included Kim Jina, Executive Director of GS, who led the development of GS Group's AI transformation (AX) platform "MISO," Project Leader Heo Youngsoo, Claire Baek, head of generative AI projects at Microsoft headquarters, Craig Doden and Edward Kong of the US AI company Articul8, and Lee Kyungrok, CEO of BrainCrew.

The event was organized by "52g (5pen 2nnovation GS)," GS's digital innovation organization. From the planning stage, it was structured with a focus on sharing hands-on cases and facilitating practical technology exchange, with presentations centered on on-site application experiences and problem-solving strategies. Of the approximately 150 participants, about 70% were representatives from external companies and academia.

Meanwhile, GS Group Chairman Huh Taesu has been serving as the chairman of the "AI Innovation Committee," which was launched in March under the initiative of the Korea Enterprises Federation. Chairman Huh has emphasized that "AI is a core element of corporate competitiveness" and has stressed the need for private sector-led technology collaboration and industry-wide expansion.

A GS Group representative stated, "AI is now a survival strategy for companies, not a choice," and added, "We will continue to accelerate digital transformation by building a cooperation-centered ecosystem."
