The city will increase the interlibrary loan service limit at the Seongbok Station smart library from the current 70 books per day to 90 books, and expand the capacity of the integrated return box from 80 books to 250 books.

This measure was taken because, as interlibrary loan usage at the smart library increased, there was a shortage of book return space. As a result, complaints were filed requesting equipment replacement due to issues such as being unable to return books and overdue books.

As of June, the number of borrowers at the Seongbok Station smart library was 1,570, the highest among the 15 smart libraries in Yongin. The number of interlibrary loan service users was also 2,801, the second highest after the Bojeong-dong smart library, which had 2,839 users.

Currently, the city operates smart libraries at a total of 15 locations, including four subway stations?Giheung Station, Jukjeon Station, Yongin Central Market Station, and Seongbok Station?as well as nine administrative welfare centers in Bojeong-dong, Sinbong-dong, Dongcheon-dong, Wonsam-myeon, Giheung-dong, Sanggal-dong, Yeokbuk-dong, Mabuk-dong, and Sangha-dong, plus Yubang Children's Park in Yurim-dong and Yongin City Hall.

Among these, interlibrary loan and integrated return services are available at 13 locations, excluding the smart libraries at Giheung Station and Jukjeon Station. The city plans to increase the total number of smart libraries to 17 by next year.
