New 3km Family Run Introduced
Total of 2,600 Participants to Be Recruited
Gangseo District in Seoul will host the 3rd Gangseo Huh Junrun Running Festival on October 18, 2025, and is recruiting 2,600 participants for the event.
Huh Junrun is a running event designed for anyone, regardless of age or gender, to easily participate and enjoy. The course is set against the scenic backdrop of Seoul Botanic Park and the Han River. Notably, this year introduces a new 3km Family Run course in addition to the existing 10km and 5km courses, allowing not only families but also couples, friends, and colleagues to join without burden.
This year's event course starts at the Lake Garden in Seoul Botanic Park and passes through the Wetland Garden walking trail, Magok Nadeulmok, and Hangang Park?some of Gangseo District's signature natural landscapes. The 10km and 5km courses each return to the starting point via turnaround points at Hangang Park and near Jeungmi Mountain, respectively. The 3km Family Run is a short-distance course centered around the Lake Garden and Wetland Garden within Seoul Botanic Park, designed for an easy run.
The entry fee is 40,000 won for the 10km and 5km courses, and 20,000 won for the 3km Family Run. All participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, a finisher's medal, snacks, and other souvenirs. Registration opens on July 1, with 2,200 spots available for the 10km and 5km courses and 400 spots for the 3km Family Run, totaling 2,600 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Those wishing to participate can apply through the Huh Junrun website. If the number of applicants exceeds the limit, registration may close early.
Huh Junrun marks the beginning of the 23rd Huh Jun Festival and has established itself as Gangseo District's signature sports-for-all festival, blending culture and hands-on experiences beyond a simple marathon. After the race, the Huh Jun Festival will continue with a variety of performances, cultural and arts programs, and hands-on activities, offering participants a rich array of experiences.
Jin Kyohun, head of Gangseo District, stated, "Gangseo Huh Junrun is more than just a running event; it is becoming a venue for local culture where families and neighbors come together. Through safe and enjoyable event management, we aim to make this a running festival that everyone will want to return to."
