On July 1, the Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency identified suspects by investigating social media platforms where evidence of the leak was detected, and booked them on charges including obstruction of official duties by fraudulent means.

The police are also conducting an investigation to identify the original source of the leak, focusing on current high school teachers or education office officials who could have accessed the answer sheets for first-year high school students before the exam ended.

Previously, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education requested a police investigation after confirming that answers had been shared in a private academy instructors' group chat on social media 40 minutes before the English exam.
