Heephil Kwak, former CEO of Shinhan Financial Plus, was appointed as the new CEO of ABL Life on July 1.
On this day, ABL Life held a shareholders' meeting at the ABL Tower in Yeouido, Seoul, where it appointed Heephil Kwak, former CEO of Shinhan Financial Plus, as the new CEO. Born in 1966, Kwak graduated from Korea University with a degree in Business Administration. He began his insurance sales career at ING Life in 2001 and, over more than 20 years, has held key positions across the industry, ranging from insurance agent to CEO of a corporate general agency (GA), establishing himself as an expert in insurance sales.
Kwak has contributed to business strategy development and organizational growth by overseeing the FC (financial consultant) channel at ING Life as Head of Sales Promotion and Executive Vice President of the FC Channel Division, as well as at Orange Life and Shinhan Life. Most recently, he served as CEO of Shinhan Financial Plus.
The ABL Life Executive Candidate Recommendation Committee stated, "CEO Kwak, with his diverse experience, is a management expert who embodies the core values of the insurance business. He is the right person to lead ABL Life's sound management, continuous growth, and profitability enhancement. We expect that his expertise in the insurance industry, wide-ranging work experience, know-how, and leadership will help establish a foundation for sustainable growth in the rapidly changing insurance market."
