The company announced that Jung Wonju, Chairman of Daewoo Engineering & Construction, met with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the Supreme Leader of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the People's Council, in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on the 28th of last month to discuss local projects.
Chairman Jung also discussed cooperation measures with various high-ranking government officials, including President Serdar Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan. Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the local fertilizer plant construction project, Chairman Jung stated, "We will take the lead in economic development and cooperation between the two countries by participating in a wide range of projects planned in Turkmenistan, such as new gas field development projects, petrochemical plant projects, railways, subways, and high-rise buildings."

Earlier, on the 27th of last month, Chairman Jung met with Baimurat Annamammedov, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan in charge of Construction and Power Production, and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the new petrochemical plant project promoted by the state-owned chemical corporation. Deputy Prime Minister Annamammedov said, "When I visited the Republic of Korea last time, I was deeply impressed by the petrochemical plant, immersed tunnel, and landfill constructed by Daewoo Engineering & Construction," and added, "In addition to the petrochemical plant project, we hope Daewoo Engineering & Construction will participate in various fields such as resource recycling and landfill gas power generation."
On the 29th, Chairman Jung also met with Batyr Amanov, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Oil and Gas, and Maksat Babayev, Chairman of the State Gas Corporation, to express his intention to participate in local gas field development projects. He also met separately with Khojamurat Geldimyradov, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Finance and Economy, and Ji Gyutaek, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan, to request support and cooperation for local projects. He further expanded local contacts by attending the second anniversary event of the Arkadag New City construction held locally.
A representative from Daewoo Engineering & Construction stated, "Turkmenistan is one of the key strategic markets we are focusing on. After entering the market, we plan to establish a stable foundation through business diversification and localization," and added, "We will continue to develop it as a major overseas strategic base in the future."
