The Tongyeong Coast Guard Station in Gyeongnam held its 2025 first half retirement ceremony for police officers on June 30.
Eight retirees, including Superintendent Park Sangyeol, Inspectors Cho Eungyu, Kim Donggun, Park Jongil, Chae Seongyeol, Yoon Chaewon, Kim Sanguk, and Lee Hyungkuk, attended the ceremony and shared heartfelt farewells with their junior and fellow officers.
More than 100 people, including fellow officers and family members, attended the event to honor the retirees' decades of dedication to ensuring maritime safety and to reminisce about their time together.

The ceremony included a video featuring the retirees in their younger days and congratulatory messages from colleagues, the presentation of commemorative plaques and bouquets, and congratulatory speeches.
A junior officer delivering a farewell speech became emotional and shed tears, which moved the retirees to tears as well.

After the ceremony, the chief and all staff members lined up to see the retirees off on their final commute home.
Chief Park Hyunyong said, "I deeply appreciate the dedication of our senior officers who have steadfastly protected the sea for decades, even amid rough waves. I wish them continued health and good fortune in all their future endeavors."
