Iveco Korea is a global leader in the manufacturing of trucks and vans, offering a full range of vehicles designed to meet diverse transportation needs regardless of climate conditions, cargo types, or missions. Iveco vehicles are engineered and produced to deliver optimal performance in the market, tailored to demanding work conditions and extreme climates.

At this award ceremony, Iveco Korea, as part of its social contribution program, collaborated with Dong-Eui University of Science on the industry-academia cooperation program and awarded scholarships totaling 10 million KRW, with five students who completed the program each receiving 2 million KRW.

The industry-academia cooperation program conducted by Iveco Korea and the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui University of Science consisted of six online courses (second semester of the first year) and five in-person courses (first semester of the second year), focusing on commercial vehicle powertrains, electricity, and maintenance. A total of 15 returning students in the second semester of the first year completed the program, and through evaluation, five students were selected as final scholarship recipients.

Kim Kyungmin, a scholarship recipient from the Department of Electric Vehicles, said, "I have always been interested in commercial vehicles, but this program was my first real hands-on experience. I learned a lot about commercial vehicles, which was very beneficial, and I am delighted to have received the scholarship."

Kang Dongkwon, a professor in the Department of Electric Vehicles who managed the Iveco industry-academia cooperation program, stated, "I would like to first express my gratitude to Iveco Korea for partnering with the Department of Electric Vehicles at Dong-Eui University of Science for this program. The department will do its utmost to ensure that this valuable social contribution program continues to benefit our students."

The industry-academia cooperation program between Iveco Korea and Dong-Eui University of Science is expected to serve as an example of a regional development model in which companies and universities collaborate, fostering both corporate innovation and regional growth. Notably, this program also led to local employment outcomes for students in the Department of Electric Vehicles. One graduating second-year student has been hired by the Iveco Changnyeong Service Dealer and will begin work soon.

Established in 1995, the Department of Automotive Engineering at Dong-Eui University of Science has produced over 5,000 automotive professionals to date and is actively engaged in various workforce development projects, including the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's "Next-Generation Automotive Field Workforce Development Project," the Ministry of Employment and Labor's "Work-Study Dual System for Enrolled Students" and "Cheonghaejin University Project," as well as Busan City's "BB21+ Eco-Friendly Automotive Workforce Development Project."
