On June 30, Jeju Air announced that it will flexibly operate its routes by increasing international flights and launching new routes in preparation for travel demand during the peak season in July and August, as well as the golden holiday period in October.
For international flights, Jeju Air will increase the number of flights on seven routes to Japan, three to Greater China, five to Southeast Asia, two to Oceania, and one to Mongolia, in order to meet passenger demand. The airline will operate 53 weekly flights to Japan, including 13 flights per week between Incheon and Osaka and 14 flights per week between Busan and Fukuoka; 7 weekly flights to Greater China, including 3 flights per week between Incheon and Weihai; and 45 weekly flights to Southeast Asia, including 7 flights per week between Incheon and Da Nang. In total, Jeju Air will add 118 weekly flights across 18 routes.
The airline is also expanding its new routes. On June 5, Jeju Air launched its first flight on the Incheon-Hakodate route and resumed operations on the Jeju-Xi'an, Jeju-Bangkok, and Jeju-Macau routes. On July 24 and 25, the airline will begin new services on the Incheon-Singapore and Busan-Shanghai routes, respectively, and on October 1, it will launch a new Incheon-Guilin route.
Recently, Jeju Air acquired its fifth B737-8 aircraft and plans to sequentially introduce three more of the same model in the second half of the year to enhance operational stability. A Jeju Air representative stated, "We aimed to improve travel convenience through flexible operations such as route expansion, in line with the summer peak season and golden holidays when customer travel demand is concentrated," adding, "We will continue to prepare for more customers to travel conveniently and safely by developing new routes and introducing additional aircraft."
